Most people that learn guitar have a vision in mind of playing songs.  People talk about campfire songs or playing at a friend’s party or for a church or school group.  This popular approach is really about learning how to play the guitar as an accompanying instrument either to some singing or a band.  This is the simplest and most popular way to learn and it can be extended to playing solo or lead at a later date.

I personally was given one lesson at first and this laid a foundation for much of what I needed to know.  The best thing I can do for you is to teach you how to play a few chords,  how to learn new chords and how to learn new songs from song sheets.  A chord is where three or more notes are played together, that is, notes that sound good together or that give a certain effect.
